Missouri Creative Achievements in Problem Solving (MOCAPS) is the proud sponsor of Odyssey of the Mind in Missouri. We are a non profit, section 501 (3) (c) educational organization run entirely by volunteers.
Odyssey of the Mind
is an international educational program that provides creative
problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through
college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that
range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own
interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions
to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of
teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.

STEM Initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering,
Math) in education is closely linked to creative problem solving. Over the years scientists and engineers have looked at an object such as a telephone and wondered how can we make this portable? Can we get it to do the work of a small computer? Students (Omers) in Odyssey of the Mind creative problem solving program learn to think the same way…identify the problem…analyze the problem…brainstorm innovative ways to solve the problem.
